Description and Context

Lincoln Hospital periodically would open its post-graduate clinic to physicians from South Carolina and Virginia, in addition to those who normally came from North Carolina. The clinic brought in speakers from the schools of medicine at Duke University and the University of North Carolina to join with physicians from Lincoln Hospital. The program provided a valuable opportunity to learn the most up-to-date medical information and surgical techniques. Except for a break during World War II, the Lincoln Hospital Post-Graduate Clinic ran continuously as an annual event for nearly 30 years.
