Seated in the picture is Mrs. Mary K. Clay, c.1948. Mrs. Clay was the sister of Mr. William Jesse Kennedy Jr., president of the North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company. She worked at Lincoln Hospital in accounting for many years and kept the financial records up to date and ready for review by auditors, the Durham City and County governments, and the Duke Endowment.
