Description and Context
The Lincoln Hospital outpatient clinic was named in honor of Mrs. Mary Duke Biddle, the daughter of Benjamin N. Duke, because of her long-standing devotion to Lincoln Hospital and her regular appearance in the waiting room. Mrs. Biddle would often sit in the outpatient waiting room knitting away while talking to patients about their children’s progress in school.
