Objective: Students will understand the role of Dr. Cobb in the use of medical anthropology and activism in shaping medical civil rights at the federal level.

Justification: Under the tutelage of Louis Wright and through his two reports “Medical Care and the Plight of the Negro” and “Progress and Portents for the Negro in Medicine,” Cobb represents one of the most influential figures in the integration of the American healthcare field.
