Description and Context
Stokes Home was the residence for the pre-clinical nursing students. When Dr. Aaron Moore died, he bequeathed to Lincoln Hospital three homes located on West Cozart Street, adjacent to the original hospital. Half of the income from his property was to aid worthy girls who were enrolled in the Lincoln Hospital School of Nursing. After 1971, when the School of Nursing closed, the Stokes Home provided accommodations to graduate nurses.
