Description and Context
Lincoln Hospital was featured in Modern Hospital in 1926 as the first African-American hospital to be described in this national publication. The three classes of nursing students pictured here opened the story. Twenty-seven undergraduates were enrolled in the school of nursing with three planning to graduate at the end of the year. The Angier B. Duke Nurses Home provided accomodations for 40 nurses, giving ample room to house the students and graduate nurses.
